This Italianate commercial building housing seven storefronts survived the 1906 earthquake but was almost unrecognizable as a single structure under layers haphazard and chaotic alterations. The building’s owners, anxious to contribute to the renaissance of Fillmore Street, decided to invest in a seismic upgrade and storefront renewal.
